Description:

This provincially examinable math course is intended for those students who are not pursuing a technical, science, or calculus based post graduation path, and who do not mind closing some possible doors in their post graduate career. This pathway is designed to provide students with the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills identified for entry into the majority of trades and for direct entry into the work force.

Topics include algebra, geometry, measurement, number, statistics and probability and problem solving skills that utilize these skills in everyday applications (e.g. home finance, applied skills, transportation, measurement, data analysis, etc.). AWM 10 leads to AWM 11, which is acceptable as grade 11 math, needed for high school graduation.

Note: This is a provincially examinable course.
